Inter-University Debate Competition
The Inter-University Debate Competition, which is organized by the Institute annually, aims to cultivate the essence of intellectual discussion through logical reasoning and creative argument, in aspiring young scientists. Since its inception more than a decade ago, the Inter-University Debate Competition has uncovered the talents of undergraduates from universities islandwide.
The most recent encounter was held on the 12th of February 2022 where the University of Jaffna emerged victorious and the University of Peradeniya and the University of Sri Jayawardanapura won the second and third places respectively
Inter-Level Debate Competition.
The Inter-Level Debate Competition is a yearly event in the CCS calendar, aimed at recognizing and developing the debating skills of the CCS students. Teams from each Level contend against each other, where they debate on contemporary and innovative topics based on science. Eventually, the best debaters are chosen to form the College team to compete in the Inter-University Debate Competition.
