The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon in collaboration with the Ministry of Education have scheduled to conduct the All-Island Inter School Chemistry Quiz competition among the Advanced Level Science students for the 39th consecutive time, with the intention of increasing student interest in Chemistry and facilitating the learning of its fundamental concepts. We will be accepting only the 6 nominees for the competition from your school, as certified by the A/L Sectional Head and Principal of the school.
The students eligible for this contest are those from Grades 12 and 13, who will be sitting for the examination in late 2026 or 2027 for the first time, following Biology and Physical Sciences. The exam will be conducted in Sinhalese, English and Tamil. The content will be largely based on the first ten units of the Advanced Level Chemistry syllabus, along with questions on General Chemistry. If your school wishes to participate, please complete the application form and upload it to the following Google form on or before 12th February, 2026.

The first round will be held on 13th March, 2026. The best 16 schools will be selected for the second round, which will be conducted at the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. Winners will be selected based on the best performance, and they will be recognized at the Annual Sessions organized by the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. Please note that the Annual Session date will be confirmed via email in due course.
